Positive Thought Power

You have probably already heard of the way that people are categorized into having a positive or a negative outlook on life.

The positive ones are sometimes referred to as extrovert or upbeat, outgoing types while the negative ones are often referred to as introvert or downbeat, depressive, withdrawn types.

What many people don't actually realize is that the state of their own personality is not set in stone and can easily be changed.

What Do You Think About?

When we are predominantly thinking about negative, bad, or depressing things, our outlook tends to match those predominant thoughts and we take on an aspect of negativity, unhappiness and depression.

Simply giving all our attention to bad news event that we read in the newspaper or watch on TV news shows can make us feel angry, resentful, unhappy and down. For many people, this is actually the norm because so many people immerse themselves in new stories.

It is no accident that the vast majority of news stories are of bad news events, simply because that's what sells newspapers and that's what gets the most people tuning in to the TV news. When we allow ourselves to be manipulated by what we see around us and watch or read in the news, we are letting life control us and it is often in a negative way.

But it really doesn't have to be this way. We can change our mood and our predominant state of personality from negative to positive by taking a few simple steps. Here is how:

Learning to Think Positive Thoughts

Our thoughts control the way we are to a greater extent than many people realize and by simply changing what we think about for the most part can have a profound effect on our predominant way of being.

If we have been watching sad, depressing, tragic or bad news reports of things that are going on in our world, then instead of giving them all your attention and getting angry or resentful or depressed about them, simply stop watching them!

Instead, if you must watch TV at all and it really is not the be all and end all of how you can live your life, change channels and find a funny movie or comedy show to watch. I guarantee your mood will improve rapidly as you find something what makes you laugh out loud and puts you in a really great mood.

If you must read something, stop reading newspapers and instead choose some different interest magazines or a good book (just not a depressing one).

All those news stories are devised to get you emotionally involved and you get so caught up in the story that your mood actually changes to match the mood of the story. The thing is, while you put all your energy into agreeing with the fact that things must change so that these news stories go away, you are not helping anyone.

You cannot do anything to change these incidents that are being reported on unless they happen to be going on in your own street, which they almost never will be. Why get all angry and depressed and sad about events that you can do nothing about?

Why indeed. There is no reason to get so involved with events that you cannot alter or control.

External Forces

There is every reason to get involved in lifting yourself up and improving your own life for all the positive benefits it brings.

You do that by focusing all your attention on the things that make you happy and on the good things you would like to have in your life. Remember that you are in control of your mind and genius brain, not the other way around.

At first, you may disbelieve that it is possible to improve your life, especially if you have been living in a negative way for such a long time that it has become the norm for you. But the more you focus your thoughts on positive, happy and upbeat things, the more your predominant state of awareness will change to be more positive and upbeat.

You can invoke the immense power of the law of attraction to become attuned to the frequency of your desire, thereby creating an attractive force that must bring it to you and you to it. You must believe in yourself and have faith that what you set out to do with result in a positive outcome for you.

Do your best to prevent external forces or whatever is going on outside of you to influence your thinking and emotional state in a negative way. When the external vibe is negative, you have the power to choose to shut off that energy by turning your back on it and ignoring it.

Through meditation and mental healing you can look inside for the positive energy that will lift you up and raise your vibrational state!

Summary

This is the power of positive thought and it is very powerful when you practise it every day.

As time goes by, you will start to notice more things coming into your life that match your mood and as that mood becomes predominantly positive, you will notice more positive things entering your life. Things that will make you happy and feel good.
